Adobe Premiere Pro System Requirements For 4k Video Editing

There are 4 Key Points you need to know to build your PC for 4k Video Editing in Premiere Pro

1. Processor (CPU)

2. Memory (RAM)

3. Graphics Processing Unit (GPU)

4. Storage

Let's go to each of them step by step

1. Processor (CPU)

CPU Required for 4k Video Editing in Premiere Pro should have following Specifications:

Cores: CPU must be at least 8 Cores or higher.

Frequency (Clock Speed): CPU Clock speed must be at least 3.2 GHz or Higher

CPU Type:

INTEL:

Core i7 10th Generation (Quick Sync Hardware Acceleration Support)

Core i9 10th Generation (Quick Sync Hardware Acceleration Support)

Intel Xeon (24 or 32 Cores)

AMD:

1. Ryzen 7 (8 Cores)

2. Ryzen 9 (12 or 16 Cores)

3. AMD Threadripper (24 or 32 Cores)

2. Memory (RAM)

Ram Required for 4k Video Editing in Premiere Pro should have following Specifications:

Windows RAM: Ram should be at least 32 GB DDR4 3600MHz or higher

Apple M2: Shared Memory must be at least 16 GB

3. Graphics Processing Unit (GPU)

GPU Required for 4k Video Editing in Premiere Pro should have following Specifications:

Windows GPU: You can select Any GPU either NVIDIA Or AMD. Any one of these should have at least 8 GB of VRAM. Should Support Multiple GPUs. Must include eGPUs for Fast Rendering In Premiere Pro

Apple M2: M2 System must have at least 16 GB of Unified Memory

4. Storage

Storage (ROM) Required for 4k Video Editing in Premiere Pro should have following Specifications:

Storage Size: Your Strorage Size must be at least 512 GB

Type: SSD or NVMe M.2 (Highly Recommended)

Note: Don't install Hard Disk Drive (HDD) as it is outdated and slows down both Windows and Premiere Pro

Upgrading Your System

Install Motherboard that supports RAM Upto 128GB or More

Install High-End GPU like RTX 4090 Series or AMD Radeon RX 7000 Series which offers more VRAM

Install SSD or NVMe M.2

Prefer CPU with faster Clock Speed, more Cores upto 32

That's it in the end I would say:

The More The Better!
